Premium Johnson-Su Compost
Over 800 Fungi Species
Over 3000 Microbial Species
A concentrated, living soil amendment produced using the Johnson-Su Bioreactor method. Our fungi-dominant compost is designed to restore soil biology, improve soil aggregation and structure, and support long-term soil function with minimal nutrient inputs.
Living, biologically active compost
Improves rainwater infiltration and drought resilience
Improves macro and micro-nutrient cycling and release
Supports formation of soil organic matter and carbon storage
No synthetic inputs, salts, or chemical residues
“When conducting preliminary compost fungi spore counts of nine composts, yours scored the highest of the nine other composts that were analyzed and your compost was even of higher quality than my 4-year compost”
- Dr. David Johnson
"Waters Ag Lab analyzed replicated samples of an extract of Midwest Soil Restore's Johnson-Su compost in 2026 using the Biome Makers protocol and database. These samples consistently showed the highest biodiversity I have observed across numerous compost samples and dozens of analyses of various microbial products. What's more, this extract contained solid contingents of functional groups typically low in compost samples, such as plant growth hormone synthesizers, beneficial biocontrol agents, and stress-mitigating microbes such as iron chelators and abscisic acid producers."

“ I've never honestly seen so many fungi spores as you had in sample #30. It's clear to me that you are refining your recipe and it's amazing how much of a difference 10% of one thing and 10% less of another can make such a difference in the microbial community. Please continue to help farmers with your good culture!”
We take meticulous care in all aspects of the production and care of our Premium Johnson-Su Compost. We seek to provide only the very highest quality compost.
Quality and Consistency
All non-wood feedstocks are Certified Organic.
Well mixed, uniform feedstock.
Bioreactors are gestated year around in a temperature controlled building for optimum growing conditions.
Bioreactors are watered multiple times daily with an automated misting system to maintain optimum moisture content.
Moisture content is evaluated periodically throughout the bioreactors utilizing the accurate heat oven methodology.
We utilize food grade IBC totes to ensure that the outside edges do not dry out; this combined with our multiple daily misting guarantees that the compost is of uniform moisture content throughout.
Excellent Biome Makers DNA Analysis
